Trio of burglars caught: police followed footprints in the snow

A witness informed the police by telephone that a burglary was in progress at a supermarket in breslauer strabe. Three perpetrators allegedly entered the store by prying open a side door and absconded with several cartons of cigarettes. When police officers arrived at the scene shortly afterwards, the witness’ statements were confirmed. There was no sign of the taters at first. Due to fresh shoe prints in the new snow, however, the police were able to trace the direction of escape of the burglars: they had fled to a property in a side street.
Thanks to the cooperation of several police patrols, the perpetrators were apprehended after leaving the building. According to the police report, they were so surprised that they admitted to the burglary and willingly led the officers to the hiding place of their loot in a basement compartment.
Already during their escape, the burglar trio had disposed of part of the loot and the burglary tools. This could also be found by the police in the darkness and recovered. The total damage is stated by the injured party to be around 2000 euros.
The two 17-year-olds and the 21-year-old offender were taken to the kitzingen police station, where they were released the next day after interrogation was completed. Whether the trio is also responsible for the burglaries of the last weeks, which had accumulated in the urban area of kitzingen, the evaluation and the comparison of the secured burglary traces shall show.
