After dorflis, junkersdorf an der weisach and buch, this year the brewers from brunn hosted the growing number of brewing enthusiasts.
The fourth municipal brewery meeting began with a tour of the brunner brewhouse. It stands out because the sudpfanne is not made of copper, but of iron. This significant feature generated lively discussions and shop talk.

With intensive discussions about brewing itself and about the characteristics of a municipal brewery in particular, the beers from buch, dorflis, eckartshausen, hoch-stadten, junkersdorf an der weisach, unfinden and uschersdorf were tapped, tapped, smelled, tasted and finally simply enjoyed.
During a snack, all the beers were subjected to a thorough sensory evaluation, during which the brewers noted that the level of the different brews was very high. All eight beers passed the sensory test without any problems.

"We are thrilled with the great entries and it was hard for us to choose the best", commented corinna holzer of the foundation for man and the environment. Under the motto "bavaria – we're doing something for bees!" the winners of the bavaria-wide planting competition were ceremonially crowned in munich. And although the search for the best was rather difficult, a woman from herzogenaurach found herself on the podium. Standing at the top and cheering heavily.
The first place in the category "private garden" dorothea lang's "micro-hortus" is a case in point from herzogenaurach. "My insect-friendly roof garden project is basically in its fifth year, but I have only been trying to implement a continuous fly band since january of this year", she describes her project. But the results are already visible after a few months of hortus farming.

Recognizing potential

Hans-Dieter schuster from the bavarian ministry of the environment was pleased when he presented the certificates together with the foundation. The competition was held as part of the "nature in the city" campaign, of the state ministry for the environment.
He explained: "whether it's five or 500 square meters doesn't really matter. It is important to recognize the potential for colorful, humming life in our gardens. Habitats for our endangered wild bees are not so much gravel gardens, which are very much in vogue, but rather nectar- and pollen-rich flowering plants and structures for nesting such as open sandy areas, natural stones and deadwood." 

The background: after 17 years, norma closed its branch in lessingstrabe in december. Between the spielothek "fly and the berankemarkt ultsch now has a gaping 1100 square meter vacancy.

No decision against kups

"the branch has become too small and we no longer see any prospects for development", ulrich schott explains why the company fell in love with the market community. "We were not able to present ourselves as well in kups as in kronach or burgkunstadt."

Stirnweib, second chairman of the barrier-free association in the district of erlangen-hochstadt, and manfred muller, commissioner for the disabled, take a close look at the new features in the wave outdoor pool – and are satisfied: "the rolling path that leads directly to the pool and the lift to get into the water have already been solved for wheelchair users", says muller.

Of course, with these grown one must wait until after the ice saints with the distribution in the open air. It is different with the cold lovers. Due to the cold nights and lack of warming of the soil, it is only now that it makes sense to plant cold-loving plants such as parsley, chervil, borage and dill. These will be placed in rows. Chervil has a very fast cultivation time. It is a universal root herb, which is traditionally used especially in soups.

Sowing of robust summer flowers such as gold poppies and marigolds can also begin. Carrots germinate already at a soil temperature of 5 to 7°. The early sowing is intended for the summer harvest. Carrots, which are needed for storage, are sown later. Lettuce, radishes and kohlrabi also want it cool rather than hot. Covering the tree with fleece offers many advantages. The plants are protected from the weather and grow much faster. The fleece is taken off only for hunting and separating. An old method is to put canning jars over lettuce plants on frosty nights. This creates a mini wax house. Lettuce varieties that are intended for the outdoors, such as the time-honored variety maikonigin, do not do well in the greenhouse. It is too warm for them here.
