Cab project off to a good start

"Ours on 1. July 2018 launched fifty-fifty-taxi app – a nationwide pilot project, by the way – enjoys increasing popularity", according to a press release from the district administration office, district administrator christian meibner states that. More than 450 youth and young adults have registered and the app has been used for over 300 cab rides.

"This app is almost stable, but we still need the feedback of the users to be able to eliminate even the last eventualities of a user problem", helmut kurz and opnv employee markus simon, who are in charge of the project at the district administration office, sum up the project.

With the app, young people between the ages of 16 and 27 have the option of taking a cab anywhere in the district between 9 p.M. And 5 a.M. On weekends and public holidays for half the price. The prerequisite is that they register using the online ID function of the identity card.

In order to further increase the acceptance of the project, an intensive exchange of experiences with the participants has taken place in the meantime. The fifty-fifty team and the project managers continue to work with software development to make the app even more user-friendly.

A meeting was also held with the cab operators at the district administration office. The development team received confirmation that the app – after some initial difficulties – is now running stably and is being used with pleasure by the cab drivers.

New updates for android and ios are intended to take account of user feedback to date and ensure greater stability of the app. In order to further improve the robustness, user-friendliness and acceptance of the app, the fifty-fifty team is always happy to receive further feedback and suggestions.
